Past simple 

.We use past simple to talk about actions that happened in the past and ended in the past

we add d, ed or ied to make the verb in past simple 

if the verb ends with (e) we add only d 

if the verb ends with a consonant letter and after it y we delete the y and add ied 

in the other cases we add ed  

زمن الماضي البسيط نستخدمه حين نريد التكلم عن شيء حدث في الماضي فنقوم باضافة d ed او ied على الفعل لنقوم بالدلالة على ان الحدث قد حدث في الماضي وانتهى في الماضي 

مثال 

the boy visited his grandmother 

الولد زار جدته 

الفعل الاصلي كان visit وقمنا باضافة ed على الفعل حتى نؤشر انه حدث في الماضي 

نضيف للفعل عادة ed 

مثل: watch - watched 

play - played 

اما اذا كان الفعل ينتهي ب e فنضيف فقط الحرف d عليه 

مثال : dance - danced 

اذا كان الفعل ينتهي ب y وقبلها حرف ساكن نقوم بحذف ال y ونضيف ied 

مثال cry - cried 

Now add ed, d or ied to the following verbs: 

wash 

dry 

work 

agree 

count
